Just returned from the office and the experience after 3 weeks of anxiety over having to get an mri done was a dream come true. Due to the pleasant, professional, personable and wonderful staff namely Kristine, Laurie, Sara and Tina the visit was a spectacular, rewarding easy peasy and even fun. The 4 of them made every aspect of the visit relaxing, soothing and easy to deal with and get through from reception to setup to the procedure itself.

I will never ever be leery of having any ct scan, mri or any other procedure like those as long as i can go back to RAI Lawrenceville, NJ. Thank you all and may god bless. And in fact look for something nice to show my appreciation during the week of 10/9-10/13. it will be coming your way girls. Thanks loads again!

Lori was so great and helpful. Me being an amputee, she was friendly, would go back to her in a minute.

2020 has certainly been a crazy year full of new ideas of what “normal” is for everyone.  People’s lives have changed forevermore due to the COVID-19 pandemic, including mine.  But my life will never be the same for a different reason.  It all started almost 1 year ago, before the entire world knew Wuhan, China and we all started wearing masks and washing our hands religiously.

It was the end of October when I decided to move a fake succulent plant right before bed. It was a bit heavy and awkward, and it stabbed my nipple. I screamed because it hurt, but I really didn’t think much about it, and even laughed a bit considering the circumstances.  Over the next week, a lump developed.  Considering the location, I knew I shouldn’t ignore it, but I never want to go to the doctor.  My medical life has been complicated for many reasons, but that’s another story.  My doctor indicated I needed an ultrasound, and I immediately made an appointment at RAI’s Lawrenceville office.  They were courteous, professional, and caring, just like they always are at RAI.  My appointment was quick and effortless, and I didn’t really think much of it.  Everyone believed my injury to be a hematoma given the circumstances, but the folks at RAI did recommend I come back if it did not resolve itself and heal within the next few weeks.  Fast forward to the new year, COVID-19 was all over the news, and the bump on my nipple had not gone away.

I contacted my doctor and she indicated I would need additional imaging.  Back to RAI for a follow up ultrasound, and then with no improvement shown, my first ever mammogram.  RAI was fantastic, as usual.  They got me in quickly for all my appointments, and they were very cautious given the current world climate and were following all the COVID-19 protocols and beyond.  They made the experience as pleasant and easy as it could be… something extremely important to me as I don’t like to focus on myself and I am a mom of two boys with a full-time job.

After the many additional tests, I received the call from my primary doctor telling me I had breast cancer in two different locations in my right breast. I was stunned! She explained that this was not something I could wait on despite the pandemic, and that I needed to speak with surgeons ASAP. Luckily, again due to COVID, I was able to have my Bilateral Mastectomy just a week after being diagnosed.  The speed from diagnosis to surgery was unprecedented! This was the silver lining of the global pandemic for me.  I was certainly scared, confused, and quite honestly in a bit of a daze, but had limited time to dwell on the issue, and leaned heavily on my support system.  I am extremely thankful for all of the support and help I received from my family and friends.

I have since been through a couple surgeries, numerous doctor’s appointments, and countless tissues.  However, I consider myself one of the luckiest people in the world.  If it weren’t for a freak accident with a fake houseplant, the quick actions and concerns from the folks at RAI, my sister-in-law working to get me connected to my great doctors, and even the global COVID-19 pandemic, I would not have been able to get through this forever life-changing ordeal of breast cancer as quickly, effectively, and successfully as I have.  My “new normal,” not even a year after this all began, has made me appreciate just what I have and who I have to share it with.  I have seen the true spirit of the people around me and I will be eternally grateful!

Every person I encountered today for my MRI was caring & kind. Can't say enough about their attention to my worries. The open MRI "room" at RAI is the way to go should you need their services. Thank you for all your care, attention to detail, and kindness.

I was referred to RAI by a good friend over ten years ago.  The staff are very professional yet personable.   They make you feel comfortable and relaxed.  The RAI doctors  have always been very thorough and take the time to fully explain.  When I have needed to get copies of old reports, I have always found the process easy.  After being a patient at RAI for 10 years, I wouldn't think of going anywhere else for my radiology needs!

My stress and fear I had for my first ultrasound was quickly put to rest from the moment I walked into the office. The decor was something I have never seen in a doctors office, more like a hotel lobby! Everything from the paint colors to the waiting room chairs made this stressful experience not as bad. The people at the front desk were very polite and I did not wait long for my exam. I also can not say enough nice things about the technician. She was very upbeat, kind, knowledgeable and professional. The results arrived at my doctors office at the University of Pennsylvania in a timely manner and my doctor was very please with the image quality and how through the report was. Overall, my experience was quick and easy. I would recommend anyone to RAI.

I recently had an MRI at RAI, this was the first time I had this type of study done. I had heard horror stories about the experience in the “TUBE” and to be honest, I was very nervous.

I have been going to RAI in Lawrenceville for as long as they have been open. I have always been greeted promptly and the staff has always been pleasant. The wait was less than I expected but I always bring something to read (as in ANY doctors office!)  Whether for an Xray, CT Scan,or mammogram, they have never failed to make me feel comfortable in any procedure. The waiting areas are non-medicinal; clean and calming. I feel confident with any of their technicians and they are very prompt in getting the results to my doctors.

Hello,
I am Doretha Burrell.  I have been coming to RAI for many years.  As a nine year breast cancer survivor whom lived in NJ, this is the place for years , along with RAI in Hamilton, that I have been with for years.  Last week, I experienced my first 3D Mammogram.  I had no idea how much clearer the images are with the 3D.  The doctor compared a few years of my reports and it was plain to see how the regular mammogram missed a few small scars and the 3D picked them up clearly.  I suggest any woman who is due for your mammogram, to please consider the 3D mammogram.

I have been to at least 10 other facilities in the area or within a 10 mile radius for MRI studies, they are by far the best. I was so nervous. I'm claustrophobic. They let me see the machine before scheduling my appointment. I went into the new 1.5T and it was spacious with lots of breathing room. The technologist treated me like I was her own daughter going through the test, she assured me and talked to me throughout. I won't go any place else!
